London Dada via 691, pioneering the online art gallery genre in 2005, is establishing the historically missing link in Dada by re-sparking the spirit of 1916, invoking long-repressed political, social and moral perception, invention and protest within British contemporary art.

Dada, cutting-edge scourge of the establishment and catalyst for the astonishing sea change in art during the early to mid 20th C., is re-surfacing through its missing London expression - a 21st century antidote for the hi-jacking, side-tracking and stifling of art into a closed shop run by a network of elitists who use money as the primary means of controlling the art market and turning large personal profits. This exclusive old boys' network has rendered UK contemporary art virtually sterile; reducing the big galleries to little more than mass purveyors of the tawdry, the pointlessly shocking or the banal, selectively promoting - through those eternal guarantors of hype the fawning jobsworths of the UK arts review media - a hand-picked harem of 'shock or bore' merchants.

As against .. "For us, art is not an end in itself, but is an opportunity for the true perception and criticism of the times we live in." - Hugo Ball, founder of DADA, 1916.

'True perception and criticism of our times' - subjects considered almost taboo in UK art today where rampant cronyism and politics within the most entrenched and divisive class system in the world have all but blocked innovation, creativity and free expression.

The London Dada vision outwith this sorry morass of conformist stagnation is to follow in the exemplary footsteps of Hugo Ball, by instigating an 'art spring' - a 21st C. enlightenment, infusing art with meaning and a fresh direction that eschews the anachronistic mediocrity of the worn-out cogs of contemporary art.
We're currently inviting development patrons to invest in the London Dada brand - people who feel passionately about the need for new zeitgeist art that critically engages and communicates rather than superficially entertains, baffles or nauseates; art that reconnects with social commentary, offering fresh perceptions, perspectives and thought-provoking narratives.

Remembrance Day - Lest we Forget Parliament's war guilt.
by Michael St.Mark, 11th November 2011

Alongside naturally remembering the fallen from the two wars of 1914-18 and 1939-44, the artist asks that we remember the responsibility that Parliament should have in ensuring war is an absolute last resort as opposed to what's actually transpired during the past 10 years - MPs tamely waving through highly questionable legislation, each in order to protect their own long-term political careers at the cost of hundreds of thousands of innocent deaths in foreign lands.
( RIP Robin Cook MP, one of the few with principles.)

* This London Dada moral protest artwork is dedicated to the 564 British soldiers killed and nearly 10,000 injured to date in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, that were jointly instigated by the GW Bush-appeasing Tony Blair, based on transparently dodgy evidence of WMD / terrorist threat.
The two subsequent phony and illegal wars approved in Parliament by typically spineless MPs from both main parties, 2002/3.

( Michael St.Mark proposes new accountability legislation that decrees any future Prime Minister taking this country to war must personally serve alongside front line troops for a minimum of six weeks after commencement of hostilities )

First in a brand new series of London Dada works proposing parts of the art gallery as works of art
in their own right. Here, top, a view of some intrigue from the staircase to LG level at Saatchi Gallery
Sloane Square, through a previously exterior / now interior window to an open plan staircase.
In the second work the clean lines and subtle hues and tones of the lift area along with absence
of people in this often most crowded of galleries, lends intrigue.

The subtle elementsof digital image enhancement and abstract crop composition of the tasteful
conversion/extensions at Saatchi Gallery cementing the works' aesthetic appeal.

Keeping it mislabelling topical with a sumptious blue tray of abatoir-fresh sawn bone fide cow bones & gristle, all ultimately derived from lush dew-laden pastures. Therefore " Green Leaf Salad" not that far off the truth.... is it.

By extreme mislabelling comparison; at Tate Britain, a pensive yet ultimately non-plussed visitor contemplates
the artist's 'reasoning' behind his assertion that a glass of water on a high bathroom shelf
is in fact an oak tree.

An Oak Tree, by Michael Craig-Martin (1974)

" An Oak Tree" consists of an ordinary glass of water placed on a small glass shelf of the type normally found in a bathroom, which is attached to the wall above head height. Craig-Martin composed a series of questions and answers to accompany the objects. In these, the artist claims that the glass of water has been transformed into an oak tree. When An Oak Tree was first exhibited, in 1974 at Rowan Gallery, London, the text was presented printed on a leaflet. It was subsequently attached to the wall below and to the left of the shelf and glass. Craig-Martin's text deliberately asserts the impossible. The questions probe the obvious impossibility of the artist's assertion with such apparently valid complaints as: ‘haven't you simply called this glass of water an oak tree?' and ‘but the oak tree only exists in the mind'. The answers maintain conviction while conceding that ‘the actual oak tree is physically present but in the form of the glass of water ... Just as it is imperceptible, it is also inconceivable "
